In order to evaluate various volunteer dynamics within your organization, we have constructed a survey that contains issues relevant for volunteer program effectiveness at rescue groups. The volunteer coordinator (or a similar leadership position) will distribute the survey to your volunteers. This survey provides information regarding your volunteers’ feelings, attitudes, and their reactions to your program, and information about what they perceive as your program’s greatest strengths and areas for growth.
Survey Dimensions
The base RGPA survey covers dimensions that are core to volunteer program effectiveness. They include:
- Perceptions of the Organization
- Organizational commitment
- Perception of voice
- Recognition
- Satisfaction with communication
- Satisfaction with volunteer coordination
- Perception of rescue group effectiveness
- Perceptions of Volunteer Work
- Competence
- Role ambiguity
- Perceptions of training
- Satisfaction with volunteer work
- Organizational Constraints
- Organizational constraints
- Burnout
- Intention to quit
However, each rescue group is unique. Depending on how your organization is structured, there may be other dimensions applicable to your organization beyond the base RGPA survey that may provide a more holistic picture of your organization. You will have the opportunity to choose to include any of the following dimensions on the volunteer survey (your consultant will walk you through these decisions):
- Satisfaction with volunteer manager/coordinator
- Satisfaction with volunteer colleagues
- Desire to interact with volunteer colleagues
